A Continuum Damage Mechanics Approach for Reliability Analysis of Composite Laminates Containing a Central Circular Hole

This paper discusses the topic of probabilistic analysis composite laminates rectangular plates containing a central circular hole under static tensile load. First, According to continuum damage mechanics (CDM) approach, structural models, definition and treatment random variables will be explored. Then, matrix cracking fiber/matrix debonding is modeled material constitutive relationships are implemented in ABAQUS software by subroutine. The methods, first order reliability method (FORM) second (SORM) have been used analyze plates’ system failure probability. functions obtained according CDM approach. Issues arising out use structures, applications, due non-homogeneity anisotropic characteristics, manufacturing defects highlighted, uncertainties related properties, loads, boundary conditions discussed through examples. It shown that scatter parameter values has significant effect on development model.
